Nominees for Week 7 spring sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian spring sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending May 12.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address, one vote per IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

DAMON CASETTA-STUBBS, KING’S WAY BASEBALL BASEBALL: Casetta-Stubbs pitched six shutout innings, allowing just one hit and striking out 13. He was also 7 for 8 with 6 RBI from the plate.

AVERY HONAKER, HUDSON’S BAY TENNIS: One point from the loser’s bracket in the 3A district semifinals, Honaker won 11 straight games to win the match and go on to take the district title.

NOLAN MICKENHAM, PRAIRIE BOYS TRACK AND FIELD: Mickenham won the 100 and 200 at the 3A district meet in personal-best times.

HAILEY OSTER, CAMAS GIRLS GOLF: Oster shot 152 for 36 holes to post a seven-shot victory at the 4A district tournament.

EMILY PHELPS, FORT VANCOUVER GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD: Phelps posted personal bests in winning the 1,600 and 3,200 at the 3A district meet.
