Don Rhoads, owner of 10 Minit Mart stores in Clark County, has been recognized by an industry association as one of the best retailers in the state.

The Washington Food Industry Association named Rhoads its Retailer of the Year for 2018, lauding his stores’ reputations for good customer service and product selection.

His stores have also been active in giving back, helping with a food drive every year. Last year, Rhoads’ stores collected 10,000 pounds of food.

Rhoads, who bought the chain in 2000, serves on the National Association of Convenience Stores and the Washington Association of Neighborhood Stores. The WFIA, which represents the state’s independent grocers, said the retailer award honors a retailer’s lifetime of commitment.

“Don’s customers are always in for a treat when they shop at his stores,” said President and CEO Jan Gee.
