Truman — The Clark Neighbors Food Project received a $7,500 donation from the Ed and Dollie Lynch Fund for green bags and materials used to collect neighborhood food donations, as the project looks to expand into new neighborhoods. It started in summer 2017 in the Truman neighborhood and has grown into Ridgefield, Cascade Park and Salmon Creek. Instead of a one-time drive, the project is an ongoing effort to help feed those in need in the county. Neighborhood coordinators enlist their neighbors to become long-term food donors, asking them to collect non-perishable food items in the green bag, and on the second Saturday of every other month, a neighbor will pick up the bag to take to a local food pantry. They also leave an empty one for the next food collection. For more information about the project, visit www.clarkfoodproject.org
