Nominees for Week 6 spring prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athelete's Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian spring sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending April 28.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address, one vote per IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

FRANKLIN GARCIA, HUDSON’S BAY BOYS SOCCER: Garcia had two goals and two assists as Bay ended league play with a win and tie.

FAITH GRISHAM, COLUMBIA RIVER GIRLS TENNIS: Grisham continued her unbeaten season with three 6-0, 6-0 victories at No. 1 singles.

MICAH KINNUNEN, HOCKINSON BOYS TRACK: Kinnunen was named the Male Athlete of the Meet at Spudder Invite, winning the 100 (11.19), 200 (24.40) and placing second in the long jump (20-1).

CONNOR SMITH, PRAIRIE BASEBALL: Smith finished the week 10 for 14 with a double, two home runs, four runs and 3 RBI over four games.

ABBI WONG, CAMAS SOFTBALL: Wong went 7 for 8 with two doubles, a home run, four runs and two RBI in two wins for the Papermakers.
