Shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday, Washington State Patrol responded to a three-car crash on northbound state Highway 503 at Little Kalama River Road in Woodland that sent five people to the hospital.

Logan Schoonover, 18, of Woodland was stopped southbound on 503 waiting to turn left onto Little Kalama, and was rear-ended by Richard Moore, 70, or Tualatin, Ore. Schoonover’s car traveled into the northbound lane, where it was hit by Roger Opp, 61, of Spokane.

Opp’s car rolled over and came to rest in a ditch.

The cause of the accident, according to a report from the state patrol, was following too close.

Schoonover and Opp were transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, along with Sandra Opp, 56, and Corey Opp, 38, who were both riding in Opp’s car. Moore was transported to an unknown hospital, according to the report.
