Linn-Benton shuts down Clark bats in doubleheader

Penguins lose games 13-0 and 10-3

The Clark College baseball team ran into the red-hot Roadrunners of Linn-Benton on Friday, getting swept in an NWAC South region doubleheader 13-0 and 10-3 at Kindsfather Field.

Clark (19-17, 10-13 NWAC South) has lost five straight, while Linn-Benton has won 23 in a row, improving to 35-2 overall and 22-1 in the South region.

LBCC’s Brock Townsend pitched 6 innings of no-hit ball until Clark’s Chaz Lopez doubled for the Penguins only hit of the game.

Townsend (6-1) finished with 12 strikeouts and one walk.

Clark had five hits in the second game, and all three runs were scored in the seventh inning.

Jordan Sunitsch had a run-scoring double, and Charles Clark Jr. hit a two-run home run.

Clark and Linn-Benton conclude their five-game series with a 1 p.m. doubleheader today at Albany, Ore.
