Battle Ground — Battle Ground High School junior Braden Scott was nominated for the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders, an honors-only program for high school students who are passionate about science, technology, engineering or mathematics. The conference aims to provide the students a path, plan and resources to help them become scientists and technologists. Scott was nominated by Dr. John C. Mather, winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics and Science and director of the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists, to represent Washington based on his academic achievement, leadership potential and passion for science and technology. The conference will take place from June 29 to July 1 in Lowell, Mass., and will allow Scott to hear about leading scientific research, be given advice from deans from tech universities around the world and learn about the future of science and technology.
