Spring Chinook angling is open to both boat and bank anglers from Buoy 10 at the mouth of the Columbia River upstream to Beacon Rock. Beacon Rock to Bonneville Dam is open to bank angling only.
Spring Chinook angling is open from Tower Island powerlines upstream to the Oregon/Washington border above McNary Dam, plus the banks between Bonneville Dam and Tower Island powerlines.
White sturgeon retention is closed from Buoy 10 upstream to McNary Dam but remains an option for catch and released fishing.
The McNary Pool is open to the retention of legal white sturgeon through July 31.
Trout fishing continues to be good in southwest Washington lowland lakes.

Washington report
Last week on the lower Columbia, anglers made 10,769 trips and caught 582 adult spring Chinook (515 kept and 67 released) and 38 steelhead (22 kept and 16 released).
Based on preliminary sampling, upriver spring Chinook comprised 56 percent of the kept catch.
Last week, boat angler catch rates improved to about one fish kept per every six boats from about one fish kept per 16 boats the week before last. Bank angler catch rates remained very low.
Prior to an in-season run update, allocation of upriver fish (including release mortalities) for non-treaty fisheries will be 7,157 fish for the recreational fishery below Bonneville Dam
Cowlitz River — From the I-5 Bridge downstream: 65 bank rods kept one adult spring Chinook and two steelhead and released three steelhead. Four boat rods kept one steelhead. Above the I-5 Bridge: 35 bank rods kept four adult spring Chinook and six steelhead. 139 boat rods kept two adult spring Chinook and 43 steelhead and released two steelhead and one cutthroat.
Kalama River — 16 bank anglers released three steelhead. seven boat anglers kept one steelhead.
Mainstem Lewis River — one bank angler had no catch.
North Fork Lewis River — 19 bank anglers kept one adult spring Chinook.
Oregon report
On Saturday, 631 salmonid boats and 179 Oregon bank anglers were counted from the Columbia River estuary to Bonneville Dam.
In Troutdale, boat anglers averaged 0.08 spring Chinook per boat, while anglers fishing from Portland to St. Helens averaged 0.23 spring Chinook and 0.01 steelhead caught per boat.
Troutdale boats — Weekend checking showed one adult spring Chinook kept for 13 boats (34 anglers).
Portland to Westport bank — Weekend checking showed one adult spring Chinook kept for 184 bank anglers.
Portland to St. Helens boats — Weekend checking showed 28 adult spring Chinook and one steelhead kept, plus six adult spring Chinook released for 151 boats (418 anglers).
Goble to Beaver boats — Weekend checking showed two adult spring Chinook kept, plus one adult spring Chinook released for 24 boats (60 anglers).
Wauna Powerlines to Clatsop Spit bank — Weekend checking showed one adult spring Chinook kept for 184 bank anglers.
Westport to Buoy 10 boats — Weekend checking showed eight adult spring Chinook kept, plus three adult spring Chinook released for 40 boats (109 anglers).
Sturgeon
Lower Columbia River (below Bonneville Dam) — Closed for retention. Weekend checking showed 15 sublegal sturgeon released for one boat (four anglers).
Walleye
Anglers are beginning to catch good numbers of crappie in Silver Lake. The lower Columbia and the Bonneville and The Dalles pools are good for walleye.
