Heritage — Students from Heritage High School traveled to Spokane on March 10 for a cooking competition with a twist: they couldn’t use running water or electricity. The students had to cook a three-course meal in 60 minutes using butane burners as part of the ProStart Invitational, which was hosted by the Washington Hospitality Association. ProStart is a two-year hospitality program that teaches culinary techniques and restaurant management offered at high schools around the country, and has more than 1,500 students a year in Washington state.
