CHENEY — Eastern Washington head volleyball coach Michael King and assistant coach Nathan Fristed have been relieved of their duties, effective immediately.

Athletic director Lynn Hickey made the announcement Tuesday.

Hickey said the issue is a personnel matter and declined additional comment.

Hickey says leadership of the volleyball program will be handled by the administration until a new head coach is selected.

King has been the head coach since 2015 after being the interim head coach in 2014. Fristed has served as an assistant since January.
