The Salmon Creek Hospital Foundation recently awarded $50,000 in scholarships to nurses at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center.

The Chou Nursing Scholarship Fund was established in 2015 by a donation from the Sunlin and Priscilla Chou Foundation of Battle Ground. The fund was created to support continuing education for nurses pursuing bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degrees in nursing while working at the Salmon Creek hospital.

The scholarships are awarded twice a year and provide up to $2,000 in support, which supplements the tuition reimbursement available through the Legacy Educational Assistance Program.

The current round of awards benefited 32 Legacy nurses.
