After two Clark County basketball teams walked away from the state tournament last week with trophies, four area players were recognized for their individual performances.

Skyview’s Alex Schumacher and Samaad Hector, Columbia River’s Jacob Hjort and Khalfani Cason of King’s Way were all named to all-tournament teams in their respective classifications. The teams, which were announced at the conclusion of the last championship games on Saturday, were voted on by credentialed members of the media.

Schumacher was selected to the first-team in the 4A classification. He averaged 20 points per game as Skyview made its deepest postseason run in school history when it finished sixth place. Hector played a big part in that run, too.

Hjort and Cason led their teams to deep runs, too. The Chieftains finished sixth place and earned a trophy. Cason helped shoot King’s Way into the 1A state quarterfinals before they were beat by eventual state champion Lynden Christian.
