Clark basketball teams finish season with losses at Umpqua

Courtney Anderson scored 23 points, and LaTrell Johnson had nine points and 15 rebounds as the Clark College men’s basketball team lost their season finale 67-59 to Umpqua on Saturday at Roseburg, Ore.

Clark (9-18) led 36-32 at the half, and in the second half the game was tied five times.

Anderson twice tied the game inside the final 7 minutes with jumpers, but Umpqua went on a 6-0 run to lead 63-57 with less than 3 minutes to play and never gave back the lead.

WOMEN: at Umpqua 96, Clark 57 — Clark sophomore Mailia Aguigui, a Union High grad, scored a game-high 20 points in her final game in a Penguins’ uniform.

Jazmyn Brown added 19 points and seven rebounds, and Stevenson High grad, Ashley Simpson scored 12 points in the season finale.
