Eastern Washington, Bliznyuk rout Southern Utah, 74-51

CHENEY — Bogdan Bliznyuk, who has won the last two Big Sky Conference Player of the Week honors, staked a big claim to a third straight honor, putting up 32 points and grabbing 15 rebounds to help power Eastern Washington to a 74-51 rout of Southern Utah in the penultimate game of the regular season Thursday night.

The Eagles are tied with Weber State for third place in the Big Sky after the Wildcats lost at Montana, 75-57.

Eastern Washington earns a season split with Southern Utah and won its fifth straight game heading into the season finale against Northern Arizona Saturday.

Ty Gibson scored 13 points and Sir Washington added 10 for EWU (17-13, 12-5).

The Thunderbirds (11-17, 5-12), who fell behind by 22 points in the first half, got 15 points from Jamal Aytes.
