On Saturday, groups nationwide will come together to demand immigrant families be kept together and no longer detained as part of the We Belong Together movement.
Locally, Latinas Unidas Vancouver, One America and the National Domestic Workers Alliance are hosting a rally to demand the Trump administration review its zero-tolerance policy and reinstitute detention program alternatives for immigrants entering the U.S.
The rally will take place between 8 and 10 a.m. at Esther Short Park, at Eighth and Columbia streets. Participants are asked to wear white T-shirts to show their support.
A second rally addressing the immigration crisis will march from 750 Anderson St. to Esther Short Park starting at 1 p.m.
