A driver behind two other vehicles on their Tuesday morning commutes on state Highway 14 failed to slow down for traffic and caused a three-vehicle crash, according to Washington State Patrol.

Ivy S. Remington, 21, was behind the wheel of a Honda CRV when she crashed into the back of a slowing Nissan Altima driven by 34-year-old Sharon N. Gottfried. The Nissan was then pushed into a Subaru Legacy driven by 51-year-old Jodi A. Sanders, according to the memo.

All of the involved drivers are Vancouver residents, troopers said. They were all taken to area hospitals.

Remington was treated and released from PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, according to a hospital spokesman. The two other women were not listed at area hospitals.

Only Remington’s SUV was reported as totaled.

Troopers said Remington was following too closely, but no charge or citations have been filed against her. They said alcohol or drug intoxication were not factors in the crash.
