The Honorable Frank and Arlene Price Foundation recently awarded $184,907 to organizations related to health, education and historic preservation primarily in Clark and Cowlitz counties. Frank Price was a Cowlitz County Superior Court judge, and Arlene Price taught art at Huntington Junior High School in Kelso. The awards went to:
• Lelooska Foundation: $10,470 to improve grounds and buildings at Lelooska Cultural Center.
• North Clark Historical Museum: $6,087 to preserve museum artifacts.
• Two Rivers Heritage Museum: $7,500 toward small replica of Native American plankhouse.
• Venersborg Historic Preservation Society: $11,000 to repair roof on Venersborg schoolhouse.
• City of Woodland: $900 to purchase historic flag pole from post office.
• Salmon Creek Lions Club: $6,750 toward vision screener technology.
• Battle Ground Adventist Community Services: $4,500 to establish community diaper pantry.
• Community Health Partners: $10,000 toward medication for low-income patients.
• Shriners Hospital for Children: $25,000 for orthopedics, spinal cord injuries, cleft lip and palate deformities.
• Area Agency on Aging and Disabilities of Southwest Washington: $10,000 to continue the senior oral health program.
• Friends of Hospice Southwest Washington: $5,250 toward bedside care kits.
• Cascadia Technical Academy Foundation: $20,000 to send at-risk students to team-building camp.
• Lower Columbia College: $12,450 for three student scholarships.
• Clark College Foundation: $20,000 for need-based scholarships and emergency grants.
• City of Kelso: $35,000 land parcel to be used by Kelso School District for educational purposes.
Last year, the Price Foundation donated $175,000 to local organizations.
