A fire displaced a family of three after damaging their apartment Sunday morning in the Bagley Downs neighborhood of Vancouver.

Firefighters were called to the Gardenview Estates apartments, 3141 N.E. 57th Ave., just before 9:30 a.m., after someone reported a fire in a bathroom there, Vancouver Fire Department spokesman Raymond Egan said.

Two crews were able to handle the fire after a bit more than an hour, he said, and the damage was relatively moderate.

Still, it was extensive enough that the family in one of the units, two adults and a child, needed emergency housing help.

The Red Cross responded, Egan said, and the city fire marshal’s office was investigating.
