I have mentioned this many times over the years, that June can be a cloudier month than May. So, keeping in fashion, we have marine air and clouds today and Friday. Hopefully they clear a bit in the afternoon hours, but some areas in Western Washington may not.
Thunderstorms popped up as I wrote my column Wednesday afternoon, but nothing in the way of showers or hail as of 3 p.m. Some pretty impressive buildups could be seen from Clark County. Vancouver at 3 p.m. had a temperature of 91 degrees, and with increasing humidity it sure felt hot, didn’t it? Too hot for me. Any downpours that did occur Wednesday evening were expected to be heavy.
Our natural air conditioner off the ocean will be with us today and Friday before high pressure rebuilds, and the weather for the weekend looks perfect. Mostly sunny skies and highs in the 77- to 82-degree range. How’s that for a change?
While we were sweltering in 90-degree heat in the afternoon, Puget Sound was also sizzling. Temperatures there were in the 85- to 90-degree range. That is really hot for the Seattle area.
