The Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program, through the Stewart B. McKinney Homeless Assistance Act of 1987, has been entrusted to aid existing local programs that provide services to the hungry and homeless population. Terms of the grant dictate that local agencies chosen to receive funds must be private voluntary nonprofits or units of government, be eligible to receive federal funds, have an accounting system, practice nondiscrimination and have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food or shelter programs.
If they are a private voluntary organization, they must have a voluntary board. Applicants must request a minimum amount of $5,000. If you’re interested in applying for funding, reach out to Kelly Molina at 564-397-7832 or Kelly.molina@clark.wa.gov. One hard or scanned copy of your application with a signature must be postmarked or received no later than 5 p.m. June 28. Send by U.S. mail or email to your county representative.
