The Washington State Patrol reported that a 49-year-old Vancouver man was injured when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed Sunday evening on an Interstate 205 offramp.

William E. Thacker was northbound on a blue and white 2005 Harley HXSTI motorcycle on the freeway’s offramp at Mill Plain Boulevard and 112th Avenue about 6:30 p.m. when he crashed, troopers said in a memo.

Thacker was driving too fast for conditions, troopers said. He was wearing a helmet but suffered unspecified injuries and was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

Thacker was listed in satisfactory condition Monday morning, according to a PeaceHeath spokesperson.

The motorcycle went into a ditch, troopers said. It was totaled and impounded by a tow company.

Troopers reported that drugs or alcohol may have been factors in the crash, and that Thacker faces a charge of driving under the influence.
