Shumway — The Clark County Newcomers Club is open to those looking to meet new people and make friends in the county, but some more familiar faces stopped by at a recent meeting in May: the princesses of the Battle Ground float that appeared in the Portland Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade. The city’s float has appeared in the parade for more than 60 years. The newcomers meet at 10 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at YWCA Clark County, 3609 Main St., Vancouver.
