Battle Ground — Battle Ground Public Schools recognized the winners of its 59th annual District Art Show during a school board meeting in May.

More than 800 pieces of art created by students in kindergarten through 12th grade were on display. Gordon Stenersen, a River HomeLink 11th-grader, won the Bob Peck Award, which honors the late Battle Ground High School teacher who taught art for more than 37 years and was the founder of the district art show.

The award was established after Peck died last year, and the high school’s art gallery is named for him.

The Superintendent’s Award went to River HomeLink 11th-grader Kaylene Yandell, while Best of Show awards were earned by Elizabeth Gushtyuk, a 12th-grader at Prairie High School, River HomeLink seventh-grader Anna Cox and Mia Tatkovski, who is in fourth grade at Captain Strong Primary School.
