A pedestrian was killed onstate Highway 14 on Monday night, according to Washington State Patrol.
Troopers said in a press release that a 53-year-old man was trying to cross eastbound lanes of the freeway near Southeast 192nd Avenue just before midnight when he was struck by a Toyota Prius.
No charges have been filed against the Prius driver. Troopers said alcohol or drugs are not believed to be factors in the fatal crash.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not identified.
Troopers continue to investigate the incident.
