Vancouver police responded to a Walmart parking lot for a report of a robbery Tuesday night and determined two transient men had been in a fight.

Officers were dispatched to 2201 Grand Blvd. in the Harney Heights neighborhood about 10 p.m.

“Two transient males got into a verbal and then physical altercation,” Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said in an email.

One man hit the other over the head with a bicycle chain and fled the area, Kapp said.

The man who was assaulted was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening; the suspect was identified but not located.
