Christopher Luna, who served as the first poet laureate of Clark County from 2013 to 2017, will lead a workshop on writing “Poems of Place” at the Clark County Historical Museum on Saturday afternoon. All are welcome, but please contact the museum at 360-573-5679 or events@cchmuseum.org to register.

Luna, a native New Yorker who moved to a strange and different place — the Pacific Northwest — will talk about making peace with unfamiliar surroundings through the power of poetry. His 90-minute workshop will include a short writing exercise as well as ideas for further writings.

“How I Found Myself in Clark County: Discovering the Self Through Poems of Place,” is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at 1511 Main St., Vancouver. It’s part of a “Clark County Stories”  series of workshops and discussions sponsored by Washington State University Vancouver and the Clark County Historical Museum.
