With 95 degrees at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Vancouver, we have logged ten days at 90 degrees or higher this month, but none at 100 — yet. The highs for Sunday through Tuesday were all at 94 degrees. It was a pretty stable, hot air mass.
We will be in the 90s today through this coming Monday, so most likely five more days will go into the record book at 90 or better.
Finally, as discussed here the other day, we see cooling beginning next Tuesday and continuing all of next week. Don’t worry — it isn’t going to be really cool by any means. Highs should be in the 80s. To get a high in the cool 70s, we need the day to start off with morning clouds and that is a possibility next week.
The Clark County Fair begins next Friday. Thank goodness we don’t expect, at this point, a return to the sizzling stuff. The livestock and other animals will thank us for sure. The National Climate Center expects the first ten days of August to be much cooler as the hot high-pressure stays to our southeast. We can all use a break from the heat.
