Vancouver police officers arrested a man Thursday suspected in the shooting death of a Vancouver man found dead on a sidewalk in the Image neighborhood December 2017.
Devin D. Schultz-Morrison, 23, was already in custody at the Clark County Jail on unrelated charges when officers arrested him on suspicion of second-degree murder in the death of Vincent R. Trevino, 23.
Trevino’s body was found early morning Dec. 30, 2017, with multiple gunshot wounds, according to police.
Officers responded to the area, near the 12500 block of Northeast 28th Street, following a call of gunfire.
Trevino was later identified as one of four suspects in the beating and robbery of an older man that took place hours before Trevino was found dead.
Investigators said Trevino and the three others beat unconscious and robbed 63-year-old Douglas Hodgson on Dec. 29. Trevino’s body was found about 2 1/2 miles from Hodgson’s house, according to court records.
Trevino’s older brother, Michael Trevino, told The Columbian in January that Trevino had recently moved to Washington from Georgia, where he’d been living with his mother, in an effort to make an honest living near his two sons.
Police arrested three people — Adrian Diaz Aguilar, 21, Jessica R. Tellez, 34, and Pedro Hernandez Jr., 40 — in connection to the attack on Hodgson.
Tellez pleaded guilty in May to first-degree burglary and second-degree identity theft, and was sentenced, according to court records. Aguilar and Hernandez’s cases are still pending.
