Woodland — Kimberly Miller, a family and consumer science teacher at Woodland High School, was named Educational Service District 112’s 2019 Regional Teacher of the Year. Miller was awarded for her unique lesson planning, and focusing on helping her students to succeed in life beyond the classroom. The career and technical education teacher said that there is more than one path to success for students, which is why it’s so important for students to learn skills like communication and accountability in the workplace, according to a release. “If you’ve ever watched her in action, you witnessed a knowledgeable and inspiring teacher that finds ways to make learning both relevant and fun for her students,” Paul Huddleston, career and technical director for Woodland Public Schools, said in a release.
