Esther Short — Furry Friends showed off its available cats and microchipped pets during the Recycled Arts Festival on June 23 and 24 at Esther Short Park. Nova, a cat with one blue eye and one gold eye, was adopted by a woman who fell in love with him at last year’s Recycled Arts Festival, but wasn’t in a position to adopt him at the time. Nineteen dogs and cats were microchipped for the price of $20 per animal. Denise Bergman, owner of Ironbender, donated two of her metal sculptures for a raffle, and proceeds from donations and the sale of merchandise and raffle tickets brought in $1,375 for the shelter.
