Central Park — Students in Clark College’s Aerospace Club participated in two international competitions recently. First up was the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International’s Student Unmanned Aerial Systems competition, held June 13-16 at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Maryland. The Clark program finished 29th out of 69 teams competing in the drone competition. The Clark students also competed in the Experimental Sounding Rocket Association’s Spaceport America Cup, where they scored the 19th-most points out of 100-plus teams in the rocket competition. Clark’s Aerospace club allows students to participate in science, technology, engineering and math-based experiential project/aerospace design competitions, and students also take trips to launch events, museums and the University of Washington.
