Kim Armstrong was sworn in as the Battle Ground Police Department’s first female lieutenant by Chief Bob Richardson earlier this month.
Armstrong has served in law enforcement for 20 years, joining the Battle Ground department in 2004. She previously worked in San Diego and Spokane.
“Kim’s career in law enforcement embodies the core values of the Battle Ground Police Department: integrity, quality service, respect and accountability,” Richardson said in a release. “It is my honor to promote her to the rank of lieutenant.”
Prior to earning the rank of lieutenant, Armstrong also served as a police officer, school resource officer and detective. In 2010, she became Battle Ground’s first police sergeant.
