The Evergreen Public Schools teachers union and the district remain gridlocked on teacher salaries after Thursday’s bargaining session, union leaders said.
Evergreen Education Association officials are advocating for double-digit percent raises for all teacher salaries in light of this year’s McCleary legislation. The district, meanwhile, has offered 1.9 percent base salary increases, as well as the additional, already negotiated 5 percent increases to time, responsibility and incentive days. The average teacher salary in the district with TRI and other incentives for the 2017-2018 school year was $71,598.
