Area Agency on Aging and Disabilities of Southwest Washington is taking applications for its long-term-care ombudsman program. Volunteers advocate for the rights of residents in long-term-care facilities, and should expect to serve for one year, on call. Training begins Sept. 7, requiring 32 hours during four days.
A Caring Closet, providing medical equipment for people in need, seeks customer service volunteers to help people find proper equipment, and to receive donations. Help is especially needed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays.
Habitat for Humanity ReStore seeks volunteers with basic math skills to assist customers with purchases. Morning and afternoon shifts are available.
Marshall House at The Historic Trust seeks volunteer tour guides for various shifts. Training is provided.
