Washougal — Seven Hathaway Elementary School students won new bicycles as part of the school’s yearlong Strive for Five attendance program, which tries to limit absences to no more than five per year. Winners were drawn from two categories: students who missed fewer than five days this year and students who showed significant improvement in attendance throughout the year. Strive for Five winners were: third-grader Kaden Fenne, first-grader Kaytlynn Thompson and fourth-grader Paige Prynne. Fourth-grader Jordan Robinson won for attendance improvement. Bikes were also awarded to all three students with perfect attendance: second-grader Titus Knottingham, first-grader Jordan Stultz and fourth-grader Abigail Picho.
