Got a broken toaster? Or a dull knife? Maybe a shirt missing a button?

Those items can be repaired at an upcoming Repair Cafe where volunteers can fix bicycles, jewelry, small appliances and electronics, do sewing repairs and sharpen tools and knives. The Columbia Springs program, which is funded by a state Department of Ecology grant, is free to the public.

The event is 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 9 at Filbin’s Ace Hardware, 809 N.E. Minnehaha St. in Vancouver. Participants are encouraged to bring one small item. Some replacement parts may be available for purchase.

Questions about what items can be fixed should be directed to repair@columbiasprings.org or call us at 360-882-0936, ext. 224. Find more information online at www.columbiasprings.org/repair.
