A 46-year-old Vancouver man was sentenced Wednesday in Clark County Superior Court to nearly four years in prison for possessing child pornography.

Judge Robert Lewis handed down a 46-month sentence for Nathan Dwight Burleigh on three counts of first-degree possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Burleigh entered guilty pleas to the three counts as part of a plea agreement. He originally faced 20 child porn-related charges.

According to a probable cause affidavit, an investigator assigned to the Vancouver Police Department’s Digital Evidence Cybercrime Unit began tracking an IP, or internet protocol, address in Clark County in March.

Over the course of the month, the investigator downloaded more than 300 files of suspected child pornography from the person associated with the unique computer address, the affidavit says.

The investigator then obtained a search warrant to track the source of the child pornography to an address at Northeast 155th Circle — a home Burleigh has shared with his wife for nine years, according to court records.

When officers showed up on Burleigh’s doorstep, he agreed to talk to them and allegedly admitted to downloading and possessing child pornography.

Burleigh is required to register as a sex offender for 15 years.
