Woodland High School student wins scholarship from philanthropic women’s organization

Woodland — Woodland High School graduate Natalie Biddix received the Philanthropic Educational Organization’s STAR Scholarship on June 12. She received the $2,500 award to use for her freshman year at Central Washington University, where she plans to study medicine. Biddix was recommended for the scholarship by the Battle Ground chapter of the organization for her leadership qualities, extracurricular activities, community service, academics and potential for success. Since 1869, the organization has promoted educational opportunities for women, giving more than $321 million in financial assistance to more than 105,000 women.
