An Amboy man already accused of possessing child pornography now faces additional allegations of voyeurism, after investigators say they found he snapped photos of a sleeping 12-year-old girl.
Jordan Andrew Moorman, 25, was first arrested in May, after the Vancouver Police Department’s Digital Evidence Cybercrime Unit received a tip in July 2016 from the blog site Tumblr, which said it detected a user had uploaded possible child pornography, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
The online postings appeared to originate near La Center, according to court records, and over the months, investigators were able to trace the Tumblr account and associated email address back to Moorman. Investigators searched his home, and arrested Moorman in late May.
He was initially booked on suspicion of 10 counts of first-degree possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and three counts of first-degree dealing in depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
According to court records, Moorman told officers the Tumblr account and email belonged to him. He said he shared child pornography and believed there was child pornography on his cellphone, a computer in his room and a thumb drive. Moorman also said he had deleted child pornography from other devices.
He denied searching specifically for child pornography but said he downloaded it when he came across it. The victims in the child pornography recovered in the investigation ranged in age from infant to 14, according to court documents.
Officers seized thumb drives, a smartphone and CD in the search. Further investigation found photographs on the CD of a sleeping, 12-year-old girl in various stages of undress, apparently shot using the phone, according to another probable cause affidavit.
Detectives later discovered that Moorman and the victim know each other.
The photos appeared to have been shot in September and October 2015, according to court records. The girl’s mother confirmed her identity for investigators.
Moorman was arrested Monday on suspicion of seven counts of first-degree voyeurism and two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
His next court date was set for July 20.
