Saddle up: Vancouver Rodeo continues, ends Saturday night

Saturday night is the final night of the 48th annual Vancouver Rodeo, which continued Friday night at the Clark County Saddle Club.

Gates will open at 5 p.m. The main competition, featuring bareback and saddle bronc riding, bull riding, calf, steer and team roping, steer wrestling and barrel racing, begins at 7 p.m.

There will be a dance party afterward from 9:30 to 11:30 p.m. with Glenn Hadduck, aka DJ Glenn, who hosts “Hillbilly Highway” on KMUZ, a community radio station in the Salem, Ore., area.

When: Continues Saturday. Cowboy breakfast 7 to 10 a.m. Gates open at 5 p.m. Main performances and competitions at 7 p.m. Dance party at 9:30 p.m.

Where: Clark County Saddle Club, 10505 N.E. 117th Ave., Vancouver.

Cost: Cowboy breakfast, $5 per plate. General rodeo admission is $10; reserved seating is $15 and covered box seats are $25. Admission for children 7-12 and seniors starts at $8. Two children age 6 and under free per adult with ticket. Dance party is free.
