Curt Daniels Invitational to begin July 4

14th annual baseball tournament gets underway at Columbia River High School

The 12-team Curt Daniels Invitational baseball tournament returns for its 14th year July 4-9.

Games will be played at Columbia River High School and Concordia University in Portland.

Local American Legion teams the Vancouver Cardinals and Vancouver Mavericks are taking part.

The Cardinals draw players from Skyview, Hudson’s Bay, Ridgefield and Hockinson high schools, while the Mavericks have players from Camas, Union and Mountain View.

The tournament kicks off today at Columbia River with the Cardinals playing Portland Baseball Club at 12:30 p.m. followed by the Mavericks taking on Narrows Baseball Club.

The championship round is July 9 at Concordia. Semifinals will be at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and the championship at 3 p.m.
