Vancouver – Clark County’s Master Composter/Recyclers are hosting an open house this weekend during the Art in the Garden event.
The open house will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the composting demonstration site at the Center for Agriculture Science and Environmental Education, or CASEE, 11104 N.E. 149th St., Brush Prairie. The demonstration site is at the west end of the NatureScaping Wildlife Botanical Gardens.
Visitors will see various compost systems and bin designs, while also seeing how backyard compost is made. Composting experts will also offer tips and lead compost piling exhibits.
Art in the Garden is a free event that combines 10 specialty gardens, art, local honey tasting and composting education. Hardy Plant Society of Oregon and Clark County Master Gardeners also are participating.
