Letter: Progressive Democrats are funny

By Robert Wattez, Vancouver

The so-called Progressives are an entertaining lot. They are so easily angered that it is fun to trigger them.

In the winter, I’ll say “Merry Christmas” and watch them fume.

I’ll fly the American flag and stand for the national anthem so I can be called a racist.

I’ll say that I support the First Amendment’s freedom of speech just to enjoy being called a Nazi.

I’ll open doors for ladies and have twice been accused of misogyny.

I’ll go to church in hopes of being called a bigot and Islamophobic.

It’s fun to just say ” Trump” and watch them break into a profanity-laced temper tantrum.

I’ll egg them on by informing them that I voted for Ben Carson and muse as they call him an Uncle Tom.

Then, to get their goat, I’ll say that I know black police officers and hear them yell “traitors!”

Finally, I’ll write letters to the editor in hopes of receiving angry replies, which I enjoy.

Admittedly, I should be nicer. It must be emotionally exhausting to be so easily offended and full of such anger and hate all the time, but then again, it wouldn’t be as much fun if they weren’t.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
