Fabric artist Juneko Martinson will host three felting workshops in February at the Fort Vancouver Visitor Center, 1501 E. Evergreen Blvd.

Martinson, who raises sheep and alpacas in Brush Prairie, will demonstrate felting and explain how she makes hand-crafted felted animals and other items.

Registration for each workshop costs $25 and includes materials, instruction and — for the first two sessions — tools.

Advance registration is required; call 360-816-6216. All sessions will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; participants must be 12 years old and older.

The projects and dates are as follows:

• Sweet Heart Pins, Saturday: This workshop is for all skill levels. Participants are asked to bring their own embellishments, such as beads and buttons.

• Spring Bunnies, Feb. 17: This workshop is for beginning felters.

• Petal the Piglet, Feb. 24: This workshop is for intermediate-level felters who have attended Martinson’s previous workshops, or who have felted a three-dimensional item before. The fee for this workshop does not include tools; participants are asked to bring their own needles and felting mats.
