Boys basketball: Mark Morris 57, Washougal 54

Mark Morris nearly saw its shot at shared league title go down the drain until the Monarchs rallied with a big second half to win on the road.

Washougal held a 31-19 lead at half and 44-37 after three quarters.

The Monarch had a huge advantage at the free throw line, hitting 25 of 31 compared to 10 of 17 for the Panthers. The Monarchs’ Tanner Vaillencourt was 11 for 11 from the line.

Tyler Berger led Mark Morris with 20. Carter Murray had 13 to pace Washougal.
