Brooke Walling became the fourth Clark County girls basketball player to score her 1,000th career point this season when the Prairie High School junior hit the milestone early in the second quarter in the Falcons’ 83-9 victory Friday over Fort Vancouver.

Walling’s 16th point of the game early in the quarter as part of her game-high 23 points.

Prairie coach Hala Corral called a timeout after Walling’s bucket so the Falcons fans could acknowledge the junior’s accomplishment.

“It was really fun to watch,” Corral said.

Walling joins La Center’s Taylor Mills and Taylor Stephens and Washougal’s Beyonce Bea, who also surpassed 1,000 career points earlier this season.

Corral’s Falcons finished with 25 team assists, playing what she called “our style of basketball.”
