Boys basketball: Prairie 57, Fort Vancouver 53

Logan Reed’s defensive rebounds to keep the Falcons’ possession alive and Dante Heitschmidt’s free throws helped keep Prairie’s league-title hopes alive.

Coach Kyle Brooks praised Reed’s two defensive rebounds on free-throw situations late down the stretch kept a possession with Prairie in a one-possession game. Heitschmidt then went 4 of 4 at the free-throw line to give the Falcons a 4-point victory.

Heitschmidt finished with a game-best 23 points in a game that Prairie had to fight back after falling behind as many as seven points in the first half. Kam Osborn added 14 points and Braiden Broadbend had 13.

Johnny Green had 14 points for Fort and James Husband, Jr., had 13.
