The Wildcats earned their first outright league title since 2001, led by 20 points from Hunter Ecklund and 17 apiece by Matt Bryand and Avery Seter.

“This is huge,” said Wildcats coach Jeremy Ecklund, whose team shared the league title last season with King’s Way Christian. “I don’t think (the players) realized how big this is.”

While happy with the accomplishment, the Wildcats are motivated to do more, include finish the 1A Trico League season and push for a 1A district title to claim the RPI rankings, Coach Ecklund said. The Wildcats entered Thursday 14th in the WIAA RPI.
