Washougal — Gause Elementary School students learned about some of their options for the future during the school’s College and Career Week, held Jan. 8-12. Each day had a different theme building to Jan. 12, when the students participated in Career Day. Parents and community members shared information about their careers with students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Some of the speakers at Career Day were a firefighter, engineer/geologist, police captain, registered nurse, fisheries habitat biologist, Head Start coordinator, coder and member of the National Guard. The theme days during the week focused on the importance of a high school diploma, punctuality, their career dreams and their favorite colleges.
