The Clark College women’s basketball team honored their late freshman guard Gianna Loville on Saturday with a moment of silence prior to the game against NWAC top-ranked Umpqua at the O’Connell Sports Complex.

Loville, of Gresham, Ore., died unexpectedly on Jan. 12. Saturday was the Penguins first home game since then. The team wore “G10” patches on their jerseys as well for Loville’s uniform No. 10.

Umpqua (18-0, 5-0 NWAC South) won Saturday’s game 78-41.

Union High grad Mailia Aguigui led the Penguins in scoring with 19 points. She made six 3-pointers.

MEN: CLARK 93, UMPQUA 78 — Jesse Vogel came off the bench to score a game-high 21 points as the Clark men topped Umpqua for the Penguins’ second NWAC South region win.

Kaden Ogles scored 20 points as one of three Penguins starters in double figures. Courtney Anderson had 19 points, six rebounds and five assists, and Tyler Fernstrom had 16 points and eight rebounds.

Clark (6-11, 2-4) outrebounded the Riverhawks (12-6, 3-2) 35-28 and made 56 percent of its shots including 12 3-pointers.
